Rosarito Beach Hotel Named Baja’s Best By The Readers of San Diego Magazine

SAN DIEGO, CA---The Rosarito Beach Hotel & Resort has been chosen Best Baja Hotel in the 2017 online poll of readers of prestigious San Diego magazine.

The selection of Baja’s largest and best known beachfront resort for the award was announced in the April issue of the magazine, which was published this past Friday.

“We’re very honored by this selection because the readers are among the ones who have been our valued guests,” said Hugo Torres, director general of the famed resort 20 miles south of the border.

The Readers Choice Travel Awards 2017 are the first given by San Diego Magazine.

Other winners include the Manchester Grand Hotel for best downtown San Diego hotel; the Omni La Costa for best family friendly hotel in San Diego; and the San Diego Zoo for best San Diego attraction.

“We polled online readers to find out their top places to stay and play,” the magazine stated in the introduction to the section. “If a vacation (or staycation) is in your future, look no further.”

Since opening its doors in 1925, the Rosarito Beach Hotel & Resort has attracted millions of visitors with its Old World charm, extensive amenities and hospitality. Many come from California and the southwest U.S., as well as Mexico and throughout the world.

Starting as a modest 10-room hunting lodge nearly a century ago, the resort has grown to nearly 500 rooms and suites in three oceanfront towers today. It includes restaurant, lounges, spa, pools, pier, dinner theater, gardens and a gorgeous expanse of beach.

The Rosarito Beach Hotel & Resort is totally self-contained for those seeking a one-stop relaxed vacation. But it is also near major Baja attractions including the city’s downtown tourist district, Puerto Nuevo Lobster Village, Baja Studios and the Guadalupe Valley Wine Country.

Guests have included hunters, fishermen, surfers, political figures, adventurers, families, gourmets, art enthusiasts, shoppers and nature lovers --- plus a galaxy of Hollywood stars. More information on the famed resort is at
