TO ERICK McHENRY, WHO TOOK FIRST PLACE AT
THE FIRST ANUAL 2009 MONSTER
ENERGY/ROSARITO BEACH PRO-AM
After
a nail-biting final heat, where the
current Mexican surf champion Jose M.
Trujillo “YucoFlow” and the
American Erik McHenry battled it
out to the end, McHenry worked strong on
one of the waves, closing it off with a
superb 360 that placed him in the first
position, Julio Quinones also from
Mexico snatched third place from the
American Surfer Sam Bough.

Beach Pro-Am which will be held on
August 22-23,
2009 in Rosarito, at the Rosarito
Pier. The event, which
has been in development for nearly 7
months, will feature some of North
America’s best shortboarders mixed
with excellent up and coming amateur
surfers from the U.S. and Mexico.

a surf event is back in Northern
Baja. It’s awesome that the city
of Rosarito is stepping in to
provide both local and international
surfers an opportunity to showcase
their talent and win some coin”,

behind the Rosarito Beach Pro-Am,
feels they are bringing this contest
to Rosarito at the perfect time of
year, seeing huge potential for this

feel bringing this surf contest to
Rosarito is a perfect opportunity to not
only help with the tourism in Rosarito,
but to also give another opportunity to
those surfers, professional and amateur,
to compete in a location where they
usually would not. Being in Mexico
will not only draw a lot of great local
pro U.S. surfers, but also give
opportunity to those amateurs in the
Mexican Surf Federation as well as those
up and coming U.S. amateurs. We are
excited to be a part of this event and
